China: Wincomn Technology’s installation of a giant Supernova Infinity Screen at a college in China has been chosen as the February 2008 “installation of the month.”
When this leading Chinese college was looking for a super-size screen solution for its auditorium, they initially thought that a conventional front screen with a soft-edge blending system was the answer. After consulting with Wincomn Technology, however, they discovered that the Supernova Infinity was the perfect solution – and it fit within their limited financial resources.
“The customer didn’t have the budget to use soft-edge blending, so we recommended using three projectors for the six columns of Supernova Screens. The result was excellent – a vibrant, high-contrast image with low gain and high impact, even when the lights are on,” says Mr. Wang Wanhong, Engineering Manager at Wincomn Technology.
The giant size of the Supernova Infinity coupled with the superior viewing qualities of optical projection make it possible to capture large audiences even from a great distance and at steep viewing angles. Computerized cutting (CNC precision-cut edges) enables a seamless connection between screen units.
“They are extremely pleased with the quality of their big-screen experience. There aren’t disturbing lines to break up the image, since the screen is constructed to prevent gaps,” says Mr. Wang Wanhong.
