UK: dnp optical screens were key elements when Virgin Entertainment Group transformed their high street record store chain, Our Price, into the revolutionary music retailer, V.Shop. The launch is the fastest ever roll-out for a retailer - with 100 shops converted by November 2000.
Essential to the new marketing mix is the inclusion of dnp optical rear projection screens, which appear as front window points of sale in all the re-profiled stores.
The interactive AV concept is provided by Welsh company Black Box, one of UK's market leaders in Point Of Sale video mer-chandising. The complete package for every store comprises a BGM music unit capable of barring music tracks containing X-rated language, and a listening post where customers are able to access any CD in the store via touch screen technology. Finally, a video-server solution - updated for content, messaging and special offers -delivers two channels of MPEG video via in-store plasma panels and the front line dnp rear projection screens. The video content is primarily produced in-house at V.Shop, drawing on promotions from record companies.
