Enhancing the perceived contrast
The Supernova Screens’ innovative Black Filter Technology uses a black lenticular lens structure to absorb light from a steep incident angle. It enhances contrast and makes the screen extremely tolerant to ambient light.
Black Filter Technology works well with both standard and long throw projection, but is not suitable for short throw since incident light from the projector gets absorbed and is not reflected to the audience. Thanks to two different gain materials - Supernova 08-85 and Supernova 23-23 - Black Filter Technology can be successfully used in most installations.
This ISF-certified screen material features true deep black levels, high contrast and extreme viewing angles. The first two digits represent the peak-gain of the screen material (08=0.8). The last two digits represent the horizontal half-gain angle (85=85 degrees). It is ideal for use in low-light environments but can also be used in bright rooms when combined with a more powerful projector. ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) certification defines the very highest quality of displays.
With its ‘second generation’ reflector, this new generation high gain (NGHG) material offers improved brightness uniformity, improved horizontal viewing and almost eliminates shimmering all together. The first two digits represent the peak-gain of the screen material (23=2.3). The last two digits represent the horizontal half-gain angle (23=23 degrees). It performs superbly in both dark and bright rooms with a wide range of projectors, large and small. This is the ideal screen material for environments with standard viewing angles such as Conference Rooms, auditoriums, churches, Point of Sales (POS) and Point of Information (POI) applications, where you want to save on the projector but not on a high quality image.
